Let's Get MOV'N, BABY!

1.  WAKE UP and MEDITATE.  I don't know about you but Monday is not my favorite day of the week.  I tend to wake up with negative thoughts and the best way I learned to kick that habit is to meditate.  

In order to have a healthy mind you have to think about positive things!  Meditation/Prayer can definitely put your mind in a good place.  For me, when my alarm goes off, I lay there for about 10-15 minutes and start to meditate and pray over my day.  I think about things that make my heart sing like my family, working out and meeting new people.  I pray that my girls are safe from harm, my husband has a stress free day and that we ALL have a fantastic things happen to us.  Then I LEAP OUT OF BED like a SUPERHERO and . . . ok, not really. . .more like crawl BUT I have set myself up for a great day!

2. PUTTING ON THE GEAR! The way you dress makes a huge impact on your day! Getting your hair right, your clothes and shoes to match. . .that's a great thing!  Always wear something that really shows your personality and who you are.  It's the best way to feel good about yourself and be confident in front of others!  I love fashion and clothes. . .especially spandex! LOL So, that alone puts me in a good mood!

3.  BREAKFAST. . .don't skip it. . .EAT! SPINACH, STRAWBERRIES, PINEAPPLES, OJ and PROTEIN POWDER gets our day going! Along with scrambled eggs, toast and/or our favorite cereal, it's packed with all the vitamins and nutrients we need to get our day started.  An amazing power breakfast keeps our energy up and our minds sharp!  

4.  BEFORE YOUR HEAD OUT THE DOOR! Put on your favorite music or play it in your head and just do the "Happy Dance" for about 3 minutes. I bet if you try it, anyone who sees you doing it will laugh and then you will laugh and now everybody has a big smile on their face!  Try it and put a little pep in your step today.

No matter who you are or what you do. . .it is never too late to start a positive morning ritual. It's a great way to start the day and set your week up for success! So, let's get a little happy and dance our way through another Monday!

Nic's athletic background started in her hometown of St. Charles, MO where she earned her 400m state ranking 3 years in a row. Later, at the University of MO, Columbia she earned 8-Big 12 Track and Field titles and a championship title. Nic currently continues her love for running by competing in local and national running events.
