TITLE IX . . .in my backyard!

Congrats to my "GURLZ" Nia and Mariana aka "Marz" for an awesome sports-filled weekend!

Representing Rancho Bernardo High School, Nia came in 2nd place at the Mt. Carmel Invitational held at Morley Park here in San Diego.  With a field of 200+ sophomore girls ready to run a 2.7 mile cross country course,  Nia finished in a time of 16.11 placing her in the top 10 female runners overall. Stanford Invitationals will be her next stop Saturday, September 28th.

Marz and the U12 SDSC Girls Academy Team won their in-season game against Arsenal FC   2 to 1.  Marz assisted in two of the goals (one cross-over and the other a header).  The team played very well and their next game will be on Saturday, September 28th.

Title IX is a comprehensive federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. The principal objective of Title IX is to avoid the use of federal money to support sex discrimination in education programs and to provide individual citizens effective protection against those practices.
